THE HEART OF CLEVELAND

The heART of Cleveland book, volume one, was published in 2018 by Scott Kraynak, in response to Cleveland’s incredible artistic legacy and the staggering number of great artists that live and work in the city. Kraynak rounded up contributions from about 70 painters, illustrators, sculptors, printmakers, cartoonists, photographers and poets, as well as a chef and punk rock musician for heART of Cleveland. The book, described as a “visual and literary feast” was well received and since its conception, Kraynak always knew a second book was on the horizon.

The heART of Cleveland volume 2, will be released this November, coinciding with a curated group exhibition featuring the artists’ work that will be published in the book, opening at HEDGE Gallery, on view November 13 - December 28, 2024. 

Kraynak describes the second volume as an attempt to feature a more diverse group of artists, many of which are sorely underrepresented in Cleveland. He states, “heART of Cleveland volume 2 showcases a cross-section of artists that is a truer and more accurate representation of Cleveland’s cultural and ethnic make-up, which is one of the many things that makes this city great.”
