“The cascading scrolls are my largest works to date, created on Stonehenge paper measuring 55” x 170”. I began these 2011 with the specific goal of breaking myself out of an approach that I had taken for decades in making smaller more intimate works with minute detail. Drawing with a graphite Lyra soft pencil, powdered graphite mixed with water and applications of clay, I worked in 6 ft. increments using a pulley system we designed in my friends renovated space at St. Josephat’s.”
