This painting by David King is an oil on canvas, signed by the artist on the back, and completed in 2020. It combines King’s interpretation of a solitary figure in a beautiful seaside landscape painted with soft blue, grey and green hues.

David King is a contemporary artist who focuses on translating photographic images into lush paintings, created with oil paint, oil stick, chalk pastel, and acrylic. King works with images of people, often his family members and those in historic photographs, and develops stories of the past through his artwork. He received an MFA from Kent State University, taught high school art for over 30 years in Northeast Ohio, and is currently retired, working in his studio in Cleveland Heights.
