A native to Cleveland, Michael Prunty graduated from the Cooper School of Art and attended the Cleveland Institute of Art for advanced studies. His work is part of many private and corporate collections, including The Cleveland Orchestra, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and The Cleveland Clinic.
After a 29 year career in the advertising business in Los Angeles and Cleveland as a creative director and illustrator, he became a full-time painter. Prunty’s color palettes reflect the rusty and dusty tones of an aging city, inspired by the urban landscapes of Northeast Ohio, specifically Cleveland city and waterscapes. He was a member of the National Watercolor Society and the Ohio Watercolor Society, who exhibited his work nationally in their year long traveling exhibitions.
