This painting on paper was completed in 2020, and is featured in HEDGE Gallery’s current solo exhibition of Gallagher’s work, Research and Development. The artist has been heavily influenced by the physics of sound waves to create this specific work. Using a paint coated band that is twisted, the artist captures the intricate lines of movement when the band is released, illustrating the detailed nuances in gold, black, red and silver color hues.
This painting would bring a sense of modern design to a living or work space, and would pair well with Gallagher’s painting titled Surfing on Sine Waves or Jodokatz. Can be Sold Individually or as a Set — Use code SET10 at Checkout for Discount.
Matthew Gallagher is a multi disciplinary artist who uses paint, ink, encaustic, and natural materials to map the expression of his physical processes. Gallagher reveals properties of our environment that wouldn’t otherwise be apparent, empowering people to experiment and play with their own surroundings. Their thought-provoking work can be found in many private and permanent collections in Northeast Ohio and nationally. Gallagher graduated from Oberlin College in 2013, and currently works in their Cleveland art and performance studio.
